       SwimID is part of The IRIS Companies, a leading provider of identification solutions for businesses of all sizes. Founded in 1981 by Ned and Susan Gehris, IRIS is a family-owned Pennsylvania business specializing in a wide range of identification products, including lanyards, ID cards, badge printers, badge reels, event credentials, badge holders, wristbands, & so much more!

       SwimID was designed as a more visible alternative to traditional swim bands like anklets or wristbands, which can be hard to see underwater. The unique necklace style of SwimID stays clearly visible even when you're swimming. The goal was to develop a sustainable, reusable swim neckband that utilized a safety breakaway, similar to IRIS' breakaway lanyards. After testing various materials and breakaway options, the final SwimID design features a flexible, soft vinyl material and a plastic breakaway, promoting repeated use and cost savings for our customers.

       The SwimID stoplight theory color-coded system is unique in the swim band industry and rated highly by our customers. The swim bands are easily visible on swimmers in the water, suitable for reuse, safe for the kids, and easy to sanitize. SwimID has been trusted by YMCAs, aquatic programs, swim clubs, and camps for over a decade.
